About the Tour

Self-Guided Bike Tour in the Julian Alps & Soča Valley

Discover Slovenia by bike on a carefully designed self-guided cycling tour through the Julian Alps. This experience combines famous landmarks with quieter alpine roads, allowing you to explore at your own pace. At the same time, you’ll enjoy some of the country’s most impressive natural scenery.

Starting at Lake Bled, your journey leads through Kranjska Gora and into the heart of Triglav National Park. Along the way, you’ll cycle through wide alpine valleys, forested roads, and mountain landscapes that define this part of Slovenia. Moreover, the routes are chosen to offer a balance between comfort and scenic value.

Crossing the Alps & Entering the Soča Valley

As the tour continues, you’ll ride over Vršič Pass, the highest mountain road in Slovenia. The ascent is steady and rewarding, while the descent opens into the dramatic Soča Valley. Here, the landscape changes noticeably as alpine terrain gives way to deep gorges and the emerald waters of the Soča River.

Along the route, you’ll have time to stop at viewpoints, natural landmarks, and small alpine villages. Daily distances range from 39 to 48 km, making the tour achievable for recreational cyclists.

A Flexible, Fully Organized Cycling

One of the main advantages of a self-guided tour is flexibility. You decide when to stop, how long to ride, and which places to explore more deeply. Meanwhile, we take care of the organization. This includes a detailed route itinerary, accommodation and daily luggage transfers.

You can focus entirely on cycling and enjoying the journey. Over the course of the tour, you’ll experience the climate shifting from alpine to Mediterranean. Finally, the tour ends in Most na Soči, a peaceful town with an emerald lake, where you can relax or enjoy a refreshing swim after a few days on the bike.
