Your journey begins with visiting Postojna Cave, one of the largest and most visited karst caves in the world. A unique train will take you deep into the cave system, where you’ll walk among stalactites, stalagmites, and vast underground halls while learning about the cave’s geology and history.
Just a short drive away lies the Predjama Castle, dramatically perched in a 123-meter cliff. This Renaissance fortress is famous for its unbelievable setting and the legendary story of Erazem of Predjama. You’ll explore the castle interior and discover how medieval life blended with the natural cave passages hidden behind its walls.
wine tasting and traditions in vipava valley
In the afternoon, the tour continues to the heart of the Vipava Valley, one of Slovenia’s most distinctive wine regions. Here you will visit a local family-run winery for an authentic wine experience. The visit includes a tasting of 5 carefully selected wines, a guided explanation of the winemaking and an introduction to unique local varieties. Weather permitting, you will also enjoy a walk through the vineyard, learning about cultivation techniques and the area.
