About Ultimate Soča valley day tour
Discover the all the emerald highlights of the Soča Valley on a full-day trip from Ljubljana.
The journey begins with a drive across the Passo Vršič, Slovenia’s highest mountain road, where we’ll make stops to enjoy the mountain scenery. Going down the pass we’ll stop at the Grande Gola del Soča, an impressive stretch of emerald river carved into narrow rock formations. After a brief stop in the town of Bovec, we’ll visit Cascata Virje (20 min walk), a peaceful spot hidden in the forest, followed by a viewpoint at Cascata Boka, the most powerful waterfall in Slovenia.
We’ll continue the tour to Cascata di Kozjak (1h walk), reached by a scenic walkway along wooden bridges and forest trails. After the visit, you’ll have time for an optional lunch break. Our last stop is Gola di Tolmin, where a circular trail (1,5 h – 2 h of walking) leads through narrow passages, turquoise pools, and the iconic Devil’s Bridge.
Da Gola di we have about 2 hours drive back to Ljubljana. Please note there’s about 3 hours of walking included in this tour as the only way to get to some of the gorges and waterfalls is by foot.

1. How long does the tour last?
The total duration of the tour is about 11 hours.
2. Who is this tour suitable for?
The tour is suitable for everyone without mobility issues. The walks in the itinerary are suitable also for older children, seniors and pregnant women if they feel good and don’t have mobility issues. However, the tour is not recommended for guests with significant knee, back or hip problems or are not fit to do 3 hours of walking.
3. How physically demanding is the tour?
The tour includes around 3 hours of walking divided into several shorter hikes to gorges and waterfalls. The trails are generally easy to moderate, with gravel paths and a few steps. Guests with severe mobility issues may find it challenging.
4. What if the weather is bad?
The tour runs even in light rain: simply bring a rain jacket and appropriate footwear. We may adjust or cancel the tour in case of extreme weather conditions in which case you would get 100% refound. Either way we would be in touch with you about the weather.
5. Is lunch or any other food included in the tour?
There is no food or lunch included, but there is a lunch break time planned in the itinerary when you can stop for lunch.
