Cycling to the summit of Stol Mountain, this tour combines physical effort, historic trails, remote mountain scenery, and breathtaking panoramic views – all supported by the power of a high-quality E-mountain bike and the expertise of a local guide.

Historic WWI Trails & Challenging Gravel Ascent

Starting in Bovec, you’ll meet your guide and receive your E-mountain bike, helmet, and a detailed safety and route briefing. The ascent follows a historic World War I military route, originally built to access high alpine positions. Instead of classic downhill or singletrack trails, this route features compact alpine gravel, occasional looser sections and sustained climbing.

The ride is moderately technical, requiring confident bike handling on uneven gravel terrain. From a fitness perspective, it ranges from moderate to challenging, making it ideal for active riders who enjoy longer climbs and rewarding scenery. Thanks to the E-bike, the ascent remains achievable while still delivering a genuine mountain biking experience.

Summit of Stol Mountain & 360° Alpine Views

Reaching the summit of Stol Mountain is the highlight of the tour. From the top, you’ll enjoy 360-degree panoramic views over the Soča Valley, the emerald ribbon of the Soča River below, the dramatic Kanin massif, the Julian Alps, and even Triglav, Slovenia’s highest peak. We take time to rest, enjoy a local mountain snack, and soak in the vast alpine landscape.

Boka Waterfall & Scenic Return to Bovec

After the summit break, we descend carefully back toward the valley, enjoying wide mountain views along the way. Before returning to Bovec, we stop at Boka Waterfall, Slovenia’s most powerful waterfall, where we pause for photos and a final nature highlight. The tour finishes back in Bovec, leaving you with a deep sense of accomplishment and a memorable mountain biking experience.
