Terms and Conditions

  1. Company Information

These Terms and Conditions apply to all bookings made with Active Slovenia Travel, (Active Travel, Športne dejavnosti, Špela Kenda, s.p.) a local tour operator based in Slovenia, providing guided sightseeing tours and guided or self-guided bike tours.

By booking a tour, the customer (“the Client”) confirms that they have read, understood, and accepted these Terms and Conditions.

  1. Bookings and Payment

A booking is considered confirmed once the Company has received full payment or a required deposit (as specified at the time of booking).

Prices are listed in EUR (€) and include VAT and taxes unless stated otherwise.

The Company reserves the right to adjust prices in case of significant changes in costs beyond its control (fuel prices, accommodation costs, taxes, etc.). Any changes will be communicated before confirmation.

  1. Minimum and Maximum Participants

Shared tours require a minimum number of participants to operate. If the minimum is not reached, the Company reserves the right to:

Offer an alternative date or tour

Offer a private tour at a revised price

Provide a full refund

Private tours operate exclusively for the booked group.

  1. Cancellations by the Client

Daily Guided Sightseeing Tours

Up to 24 hours before departure: full refund

24 hours or less before departure / no-show: 100% cancellation fee

Multi-day Guided Sightseeing Tours

Up to 14 days before departure: full refund

13–7 days before departure: 50% cancellation fee

6 days or less before departure / no-show: 100% cancellation fee

Bike Tours (Guided & Self-Guided)

Due to advance reservations for accommodation, luggage transfers, and services:

Up to 60 days before departure: full refund

59–7 days before departure: 50% cancellation fee

6 days or less before departure / no-show: 100% cancellation fee

Refunds are processed to the original payment method.

  1. Changes by the Client

Changes to dates, itinerary, or number of participants are subject to availability.

Any additional costs resulting from changes will be charged to the Client.

The Company cannot guarantee changes requested less than 7 days before departure.

  1. Changes or Cancellation by the Company

The Company reserves the right to modify or cancel a tour due to:

Weather conditions

Safety concerns

Force majeure (natural disasters, strikes, road closures, government restrictions, etc.)

In such cases, the Company will offer:

An alternative tour or date, or

A full refund for the unused portion of the tour

No additional compensation can be claimed.

  1. Participant Responsibilities

Clients must ensure they are physically fit and medically able to participate in the tour.

For bike tours, participants must be confident cyclists and follow traffic regulations at all times.

The Company reserves the right to exclude a participant whose behavior endangers themselves or others, without refund.

  1. Bikes and Equipment (Bike Tours)

Clients are responsible for rented bikes and equipment during the tour.

Any damage caused by misuse or negligence may be charged to the Client.

Helmets are strongly recommended and mandatory for children under 18.

  1. Insurance

Clients are strongly advised to have valid travel insurance covering:

Medical expenses

Accidents

Personal liability

Trip cancellation and interruption

The Company is not responsible for costs arising from insufficient insurance coverage.

  1. Liability

The Company acts as an organizer of tourism services and is not liable for:

Injury, illness, loss, or damage to personal belongings

Delays caused by traffic, weather, or third-party suppliers

Participation is at the Client’s own risk.

Liability is limited to the amount paid for the tour.

  1. Photography and Marketing

The Company may take photographs or videos during tours for promotional purposes.
Clients who do not wish to appear must inform the guide in advance.

  1. Data Protection

Personal data is collected solely for booking and tour organization purposes and is handled in accordance with GDPR regulations. Data will not be shared with third parties except where necessary to deliver the service.

  1. Applicable Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of Slovenia.
Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Slovenian courts.

  1. Acceptance of Terms

By booking a tour, the Client confirms acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
