About the Tour

Best of Slovenia Bike Tours: From the Alps to the Adriatic

Get the most out of your stay in Slovenia by exploring the country on a self-guided cycling holiday that takes you from alpine landscapes to the Mediterranean coast. This 7-day bike tour allows you to experience Slovenia’s incredible diversity at your own pace, combining mountains, rivers, wine regions and the sea into one journey. This itinerary offers a relaxed start and an even deeper introduction to Slovenia’s most iconic sights.

Carefully Designed Routes Through Slovenia’s Most Scenic Regions

Your journey begins in Bled, where you’ll have time to enjoy the famous lake, island, and alpine surroundings before starting your cycling adventure. From there, the route leads to Kranjska Gora and into Triglav National Park, cycling through pristine alpine valleys and past dramatic mountain scenery. You’ll continue to Bovec cycling over the highest mountain pass in Slovenia – the Vršič Pass. Descending the pass you will reach the emerald Soča Valley, known for its turquoise river, gorges, and waterfalls, before heading toward Most na Soči.

The tour then transitions into warmer landscapes as you cycle into Goriška Brda, Slovenia’s renowned wine region, often called the “Tuscany of Slovenia.” Here, you can visit a local winery and enjoy a wine tasting among rolling vineyards. The final cycling days take you across the Karst Plateau, offering wide open views, limestone landscapes, and peaceful roads, before descending toward the coast and finishing in the charming seaside town of Piran, where you can celebrate your journey with a swim in the Adriatic Sea.
