About the tour
Do you want to get the best out of your stay in Slovenia while being on a bike? Then this tour is for you! You can hop on a bike and explore Triglav national park, the emerald Soča valley, Goriška Brda wine region and our beautiful coast in just 6 days.
The self-guided tour allows you to take as much time as you want for cycling and exploring Slovenia’s exquisite landscape. We will prepare the cycling itinerary, organise accommodation and transport of your luggage so you can focus solely on cycling and enjoying your well deserved holidays.
The roads where you will cycle are well maintained, most of the time avoiding the traffic. The routes include a mix of gravel roads, asphalt roads and cycleways. Some short sections may involve cycling on main roads. You will be cycling from 34 to 58 km a day. If you are worried about your level of fitness we offer electric bikes to navigate the steep parts effortlessly.
In a few days you’ll catch the sight of some of the most scenic vistas in Julian Alps, feel the climate changing from the Alpine to Mediterranean and at the end you can jump in the sea at the beautiful town of Piran. You’ll start your journey in Kranjska Gora, continue to Bovec and Most na Soči. From Most na Soči you will head to our “little Tuscany” – Goriška Brda, where you can visit a local cellar and try some of delicious local wines! The next day you will be cycling through Karst plateau receiving most spectacular views all the way to Piran where you can finally refresh yourself in the Adriatic sea!
Itinerary
DAY 1: Arrival to Kranjska Gora (Shuttle)
On the day of your arrival a member of our team will give you all the information about the e-bike tour, the area, the itinerary and all the necessary information about the equipment. If you have time we suggest taking a walk to lake Jasna or going to see Peričnik waterfall.
DAY 2: Kranjska Gora – Bovec (Bike day)
On the first day of cycling you will go over the highest mountain pass in Slovenia – the Vršič Pass. While ascending this steep pass with 50 sharp turns up and down you’ll enjoy the scenic mountain peaks that are surrounding you on every corner. Following the road made during the 1st world war you’ll soon reach Trenta, the first village of the Soča Valley. You will follow the emerald Soča River all the way to the town of Bovec. On the way you can stop at some of the picturesque attractions like the Russian chapel, source of the Soča river, the Great Soča Gorge.

DAY 3: Bovec – Most na Soči (Bike day)
On the day 4 you will start your biking from Bovec. You will still be cycling along the rapids of the Soča river. On the way you can stop to see the charming town Kobarid, Kozjak waterfall, Tolmin Gorge and the lake of Most na Soči.

DAY 4: Most na Soči – Goriška Brda (Bike day)
As your jorney will continue to the lower Soča valley, you will soon feel the Mediterranean climate, accompanied by a totally different landscape. Starting the day in the mountains, continuing it along the Soča river and watching the sunset in the wine region. What else could you wish for? The vineyard hills and charming villages in Goriška Brda, where you will stay for the night will remind you of Tuscany. We recommend trying a glass of Rebula – the most famous wine in the region.

DAY 5: Goriška Brda – Sežana (Bike day)
You will start your day rolling through the vineyard hills of Goriška Brda and soon start ascending to our beautiful Karst plateau. On the way we highly recommend stopping at the charming town of Štanjel. Your accommodation for tonight will be in Sežana. Make sure you get enough sleep for your last day of cycling.

DAY 6: Sežana – Piran (Bike day)
Soon after starting your cycling you will reach Lipica, another Slovenian jewel which is a part of UNESCO World Heritage Site. After a possible stop at the oldest stud farm of Lipican horses in the world you will continue your cycling partly through Italy all the way to Slovenian coast. Your cycling adventure will come to an end in Piran, a charming town known for its narrow little streets and Venetian architecture.

There you go! You deserve a break. After 5 day of cycling you can enjoy your day at the beautiful slovenian coast. Make sure you visit some of the beautiful sites of Piran such as Walls of Piran, Tartini Square and the the Church of St. George from where you’ll see Piran from the above. Or you can simpy spend your day at the beach listening to the waves crashing.

Good to know
